Ein Gedicht, dass ich in ein englischen Schulbuch zum lesen gefunden habe. Es könnten noch  mehr dieser Art folgen, weil mir die Gedichte dort wirklich gefallen haben. Ich bin mir aber mit den Copyright nicht ganz sicher, doch es ist kaum möglich den Verlag in Amerika zu kontaktieren. Ich gebe aber die nötigen Informationen, die ich habe. Weil ich auch die Gedichte auf englisch schreibe funktioniert die Google-Übersetzung nicht ins deutsche. Die meisten verstehen ja eh englisch und im originalen ist es sowieso besser.

Trust in God and Do the Right

Courage, brother! Do not stumbel
Though the path be dark as night;
There’s a star to guide the humble –
Trust in God and do the right.

Let the road be long and dreary,
And its ending out of sight;
Foot is bravely – strong or weary.

Perish „policy“ and cunning
Perish all that fears the light;
Whether winning, whether losing,
Trust in God and do the right.

Trust no party, trust no faction,
Trust no leaders in the fight,
But in every word and action,
Trust in God and do the right.

Trust no forms of guilty passion;
Friends can look like angels bright.
Trust no custon, school or fashion;
Trust in God and do the right.

Some will hate thee, some will love thee;
Some will flatter some witll sight;
Turn from man, and look above thee;
Trust in God and do the right.

Simple rule and safest guiding,
Inward peace and inward light.
Star upon our path abiding:
Trust in God and do the right.
